Hospital 02:12
HOSPITAL Hospital bound Where seeing is believing Black and white Is the way to put up a fight Impossibly you’ve found Looks can be deceiving Hey alright Just as long as you sleep at night And I say alright When X is always an unknown It’s hard to hold on to Y When Y gets buried with your bones And I say honest to God What’s in motion never rests There’s no way to make you see There’s only time to solve for X If some of this sounds like rhyme without a reason Wrong or right It was written in black and white and every shade of gray is tantamount to treason Don’t let’s be Adding insult to injury And you say alright Your exit’s always an unkown It’s hard to hold on to Y When Y gets buried with your bones And I say honest to God When what’s in motion never rests There’s no way to make you see There’s only time to solve for X

Living Proof 03:36
LIVING PROOF Do you know do you know what you’re saying to me Saying what you’re saying to me, from what you’re saying I doubt it You should go you should go you should go out and see See the world spinning around Before you tell me about it You’re the Living Proof That the honest truth won’t always set you free Every rock in the road and you’re blaming me For the way you found it I don’t know what you need to set you free To find you’re way around it Take it out take it out take it all out on me Take your mess spread it around To make you feel like a big man I don’t know how to make it much clearer to see Standing where you choosing to stand Looks like your standing in quick sand You’re the living proof that there are some thing you must believe to see Every rock in the road and you’re blaming me For the way you found it I don’t know what you need to set you free To find you’re way around it

Come on I can see we’re headed for the sun Pretty soon I know it won’t be long All the time we had will soon be gone But there’s still one thing to do together Come on come on come on It’s time to go Come on Because it’s getting harder to ignore There’s no way to be here anymore With the ocean swallowing the shore And no way to get around the weather Come on come on come on it’s time to go can you recognize the sound Of your heart beat start to pound into forever Every moments come to this It’s a pull I can’t resist or figure out Come on come on come on it’s time to go Come on come on come on it’s time to go It’s the end Feels so good to see your face my friend Never thought I’d see your face again Like a dream you hope will never end Going to help you step into forever Come on Come on come on It’s time to go Do you recognize the sound Of your heart beat start to pound into forever Every moment comes to this It’s a pull I can’t resist or figure out Come on come on come on it’s time to go Come on come on come on it’s time to go

You are the x upon the map the buried treasure I hear you calling from the far side of the earth You are the bud before the leaf You are forever for me You are a season that is looking for its birth Calling out to me I’m calling out to you I hear you call and answer from the far side of the earth tonight It’ll only be a moment Till you’re gone And the moment never lasts for very long I am a searchlight on the sea Searching the weather At night you glide along the ocean as it swirls You are the mighty mustard seed you are so clever to be Where Mother Nature turns her oysters into pearls Calling out to me I’m calling out to you I hear you call and answer from the far side of the earth tonight Calling out to me I’m calling out to you I hear you call and answer from the far side of the earth It’ll only be a moment Till you’re gone And the moment never lasts for very long You are the mighty mustard seed you are so clever to be Where Mother Nature turns her oysters into pearls

Cigarettes 02:36
To take something beautiful and fill it up with hate Is such a waste of time and mine is too precious to argue You’re making me want a cigarette Your making me draw the line When nobody here is questioning what’s theirs and what is mine And I don’t want to argue anymore If you’re always keeping score Well it’s clear the game is up How come you are the last to notice Must be nobody ever told you That to be a man First you drag your own weight to where you want to stand But I don’t have the strength to anymore If you’re always keeping score Well it’s clear the game is up How come you are the last to notice Well it’s clear the game is up How come you are the last to notice Isn’t much to the art of getting even You should want to figure out You pack up all of your toys You say I’m leaving What did I leave out I don’t want to examine all the treasons you’re so ornery about If you’re always keeping score Of the facts and what they’re for Well it’s clear the game is up How come you are the last to notice It’s clear the game is up How come you are the last to know

21st Century 03:02
O say come on now can’t you see That we are brave and we are free But we still got the blues I want to get away from here And all these tv’s selling fear and calling it the news if the words are mine to choose I’d rather say what’s unspoken you’re unable to see we were under a spell and half the way broken yeah we’ll easily be torn by the 21st century In the war to be amused we never much was anyway When you were young And bulletproof You twisted arms and told the truth I guess those days are gone Cuz now its evidence you seek To plug your holes and patch your leaks And make your story strong But to get where you belong You’ll need your eyes to be open You’re unable to see We were under a spell And half the way broken Yeah we’ll easily be Torn by the 21st century Torn by the 21st century Torn by the 21st century In the war to be confused We never was much anyway

2 Way Street 03:20
Automatic never make a sound Light a fire then it burns you down Dust and ashes when the job’s complete The road to hell is a two way street Two way street A two way street Been so long I have seen your face Brought my fire my baby just in case I’m like you you know I won’t be beat The road to hell is a two way street Two way street A two way street Tied together but you just can’t see How the hell you got tied to me I was thinking that the same is true The road to hell runs from me to you from me to you from me to you from me to you Funny how it’s on a judgment day Your heart is full but there’s hell to pay Some accounts you know you just can’t cheat The road to hell is a two way street

You got what I need But what I need now ain’t nothing like you Cuz you Watch while I bleed And what I need now Is something brand new but I don’t know how to say When you start the car you killed the engine Filled up your tank full of sand You used the key to lock your legend Lost with a map in your hand Us And forever Come together time To make a new start But where, if and whether now or never plan to keep us apart and I don’t know how to say When you start the car you killed the engine Filled up your tank full of sand You used the key to lock your legend Lost with a map in your hand

Predelay 03:25
I can you hear your echo See it speeding for the coast Waiting for it to begin again It’d be faster if it swam California to Japan Cross the ocean under the milky way Well I thought was alone when I heard you say Only for me For a moment it was strong And the next one It was gone Just a ghost from a sound in the pouring rain And the echo of your voice was a boomerang Only for me Only for me Now you see me Now you don’t

about

COBY BROWN – FRENCH EXIT
Brown’s latest, French Exit, marks a seismic sonic shift for the LA based singer/songwriter.

While 2008’s Stars & Curses, written after a bout with cancer, was a love letter to being alive, French Exit is a visit with ghosts. These songs are short and spare, dressed up in an echo and over before you’re ready for them to be.

Produced by Will Golden and Brown, French Exit features guest turns from David Immergluck (Counting Crows, Camper Van Beethoven), Fil Krohnengold (Sarah Bareilles, Duncan Sheik) and drummer Michael Jerome (Richard Thompson, John Cale).
